JSON Schema Viewer

Explore a JSON Schema as a collapsible property tree with types, required flags, constraints, and resolved $refs.

What this does

Reading a large JSON Schema as raw JSON is slow. This viewer turns it into an outline: every property on its own row, with its type, a required marker, its description, and its constraints (for exampleminimum: 0, format: "email", or enum: "open" | "closed"). Use the arrows to collapse and expand levels, or Expand all and Collapse all for the whole tree.

What it shows

  • Types: single and multiple types (string | null), arrays with their item type (array<string>), enums, constants, and tuples.
  • References: local $ref values are resolved and expanded in place, with a note naming the definition. A reference that points back into itself stops with a “recursive reference” note instead of looping. External references are not loaded and are marked as such.
  • Composition: oneOf, anyOf, and allOf appear as groups with numbered alternatives, next to not, if, then, andelse.
  • Objects: additionalProperties schemas, pattern properties, and closed objects (“No additional properties”).
  • Definitions: $defs and definitions are listed at the bottom, including ones nothing references.

Limits

Schemas up to 1 MB are accepted. Very large or deeply nested schemas are cut off after about 3,000 rows or 30 levels, and the viewer says so. The viewer describes structure; to check data against the schema use the JSON Schema validator.

Privacy

The schema is read in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
